North Macedonian FA grants support funding to women’s top tier clubs

April 4 – The North Macedonian Football Federation (FFM) general secretary Filip Popovski (pictured) has said the federation is going to support all clubs in the Women’s First Division with a grant of €10,000.

The money must be used for administrative expenses, such as pitch rental and maintenance, coaches, and training equipment.
The grants will be monitored by independent audits with the funds coming from the 2021/22 UEFA Women’s Champions League Solidarity Fund.

The federation said the financial assistance formed part of its plans to help women’s clubs to continue developing.
Last year, the FFM presented its ‘More women – more goals’, strategy for the development of women’s football in the country. The programme has set 30 goals that for the period 2021-2025.

“With the continuous support in both financial and technical terms (equipment, footballs, travel expenses, etc.), FFM confirms that women’s football has long been perceived as part of our football that develops specific goals and objectives,” said Popovski.

“Through the efforts of FFM, we want to encourage the clubs above all to be at the heart of the rise of women’s football in Macedonia. In this sense, UEFA’s help is great and it is important to show that the funds are spent correctly.”
