April 13 – Turkey is the only rival to the UK and Ireland candidacy to host the 2028 European Championship, UEFA confirmed in announcing the formal bids.

The Turks, who have failed five times to host the Euros, are also in for 2032 and face Italy in another two-horse race.

“In the forthcoming months, the UEFA administration will evaluate each of the bids, with the UEFA Executive Committee to vote on who has won the right to host both editions in October,”

April 10 – Turkey has officially signed its bid documents for is a sixth consecutive attempt to host the Euro finals.

Turkey has submitted a bid to host both the 2028 and 2032 editions. The hosts will be awarded the tournaments in the autumn of this year.

The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu (pictured) signed the necessary government guarantees at a signing ceremony before they are delivered to UEFA on April 12,
