March 29 – Bulgarian top tier club Botev Plovdiv has launched a search for a naming rights sponsor for its new ‘Hristo Botev’ stadium in the second largest city in Bulgaria. The 19,000-capacity stadium will be officially opened within the next month.
The management of the Canaries have embarked on a major commercial programme in a bid to bring the club to the next level of operations off the field, and fund a better performing team on it.
Levski Sofia has recently changed the name of its stadium to add a naming rights sponsor, bringing in one of the largest mobile operators in the country, VIVACOM. Ludogorets, 11-times Bulgarian champions, have also rebranded their stadium – from the ‘Ludogorets Arena’ to ‘Huvepharma Arena’ – though that was done in 2019.
To kick start the sponsorship push, Botev Plovdiv organised a seminar with Nikos Karauzas, commercial director of Greece’s AEK Athens, which recently renamed its new stadium to OPAP Arena.
During the online seminar, the participants discussed with Nikos Karauzas topics including the optimisation of commercial opportunities after AEK’s to the OPAP Arena and creating additional advantages for partners.
