June 24 – Four teams from South Africa’s fourth tier have been banned for good after being found guilty of match fixing when crucial games in the race for promotion finished, wait for it, 33-1 and 59-1 respectively… including 41 own goals!
June 23 – A yellow card handed out to Arsenal’s Swiss international Granit Xhaka back in December is reportedly being investigated by Britain’s National Crime Agency amid suspicious betting activity.
May 18 – Ghanaian football has been struck by a match-fixing scandal with top-flight clubs Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies hit with demotion to the third tier and players and officials of both clubs heavily sanctioned.
April 29 – The CSCF Sport Integrity Group and the Malta Police Force have completed the IntegriSport Next national Awareness Raising Session on match-fixing.
April 27 – The European Union’s law enforcement agency Europol and UEFA have completed a workshop aimed at identifying new ways to investigate and cooperate on match-fixing cases.
April 22 – The CSCF Sport Integrity Group, which has a focus on battling and information sharing on match-fixing issues, has scheduled its next Awareness Raising Session for Malta at the end of April.
March 22 – The Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) have renewed their partnership with Starlizard Integrity Services (SIS) in their battle against match-fixing which last year saw top tier club FC Floresti has been sanctioned with relegation from the National Division.
March 3 – Bet monitoring agency Sportradar Integrity Services (SIS) is reporting a record number of suspicious matches were detected in 2021. A year in which global sports betting turnover topped €1.45 trillion for the first time, according to SIS estimates.
February 25 – The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has extended and expanded their agreement with Sportradar Integrity Services for as new three year term.
January 31 – Starlizard Integrity Services (SIS) has reported that the number of football matches it assessed as being suspicious in 2021 is 130, 0.30% of all matches played in 2021 that the firm analysed.

January 26 – Moldova top tier club FC Floresti has been sanctioned with relegation from the National Division for betting related match-fixing.
January 20 – The English FA has opened an investigation into suspicious betting patterns around a yellow card issued to an Arsenal player in a match played before Christmas.
December 22 – Former Leeds United winger Pawel Cibicki has been convicted of offences related to match-fixing by a court of appeal in Sweden and reportedly banned from playing in the country for four years.
December 16 – Sportradar has expanded its relationship with the Dutch FA (KNVB) with an agreement with its Intelligence and Investigation Services (I&I) unit to provide increased investigative resource into irregular betting patterns, match manipulation and corruption.
December 8 – England’s teenage midfield international Jude Bellingham has been fined €40,000 by the German Football Association for unsportsmanlike conduct after he criticised referee Felix Zwayer following his Borussia Dortmund team’s 3-2 defeat by Bayern Munich last weekend.
