July 26 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has boosted its management education for members as it launches its second and third editions of the Football Administration Certificate (FAC) programme for member associations.
A total of 51 participants from 26 Member Associations will take part in the second and third editions of the FAC which has been expanded to include a seventh module focussed on Financial Management in Football.
The new module will augment the current core aspects, which include the organisation of world football, strategic management, revenue generation, media and communications as well as events and operations management.
FC Development Committee Chairman H.E. Mohamed Khalfan Al Romaithi said: “The FAC exemplifies the progress that the AFC is making towards strengthening the capabilities of Member Associations under the banner ‘One Asia, One Goal’.
“Following the success of the first edition, it is essential that we provide all our Member Associations with a more forward-thinking and dynamic approach to football administration and development.”
The FAC is a nine-month programme, which was piloted for Member Associations in the East region between July to April last year before being opened up across all the AFC’s member federations.
The next programme will take place from July 31, 2017 to August 2, 2018 and comprises of three quarterly face-to-face seminars in Kuala Lumpur and e-learning modules, combining a minimum of 280 study hours. The course has been designed in partnership with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS).
